Your vehicle must already support factory wired CarPlay. Having a USB port alone is not enough. Synapse Hub converts an existing compatible connection; it does not install CarPlay in a vehicle that lacks it.
If you have an aftermarket head unit or are unsure, contact us with your car make, model, year and phone model before ordering.
What is the difference between the two models?
Essential 2-in-1 offers wireless CarPlay and wireless Android Auto for everyday navigation, music and calls.
Ultimate 4-in-1 adds screen mirroring for compatible phones. Phone and app restrictions apply. Use video only while safely parked.
Does it work with iPhone and Android?
Both models support CarPlay on compatible iPhones and Android Auto on compatible Android phones. Wireless Android Auto requires a supported phone and 5 GHz Wi-Fi; many supported phones run Android 11 or later.
Wireless Android Auto and screen mirroring are different features. Google Pixel phones may support Android Auto without supporting the adapter’s Android mirroring mode. Confirm your exact phone model with our team if mirroring is important to you.
Can I mirror any video app with Ultimate?
No. Screen mirroring depends on your phone, operating system and the app. Services such as Netflix and Hulu can restrict mirroring through content protection. The adapter does not guarantee playback of every app or let you install arbitrary apps on your car.
Video and screen mirroring are for use while safely parked only.
Will I keep my original car controls?
Synapse Hub works through your existing infotainment system. Supported touchscreen, steering-wheel and voice controls remain available through CarPlay or Android Auto. Exact functions depend on your vehicle, phone and apps.
