Before You Buy: Check Your Wired CarPlay Setup

Start with the connection your vehicle already supports. For the Synapse Hub CarPlay setup described on our product page, the key requirement is a working factory wired CarPlay system.

1. Check what happens with a cable

With your vehicle safely parked, connect your iPhone using a suitable data cable to the vehicle's CarPlay USB port. Look for the CarPlay interface on the vehicle display. Charging the phone or playing Bluetooth audio alone does not confirm wired CarPlay support.

2. Identify the installed system

Note the vehicle make, model and year, plus the trim and head-unit model if available. Factory and aftermarket systems can differ, and the same model name can have different equipment across countries.

3. Use the reference checker

Open the vehicle reference checker and enter your details. The list is a starting point for checking the basic requirements. A missing model is not, by itself, a finding that the vehicle cannot work with the product.

4. Ask about the details that remain unclear

Contact us with the vehicle information, a photo of the infotainment system, your phone model and the result of your wired test. This is more useful than a model name alone.
